While we've been busy helping our clients Style their homes I've also managed to gather up some inspirational mood boards and styling tips that I'd like to share with you...
One of our latest projects involved a lovely lady and her waterside family home. Her home had a beautiful cozy feel and you could just tell there were many happy memories shared over the dinner table from kids, to partners and now grand kids! However the home hadn't been updated in many years and my Client felt now that her kids are grown up it was time to update her interior style.
My brief was to create a timeless and sophisticated French-Hamptons Styled Interior for their family room which incorporated living and dining and over-looked the pool area. We had to be careful to hold on to the cozy family feeling and ensure the room was inviting and above all livable since this room was the one they would spend most of their time in.
So we started by suggesting Dulux White Exchange Half strength for the walls, Dulux Vivid White for the trims and doors. We knew these colours would create a neutral foundation to built our style from. We started by choosing two accent colours to work with, blue and white and then we introduced some wooden furniture pieces and large rugs for warmth.
Firstly, we have our French 4 Door Buffet Unit which is really practical for storage and as an entertainment unit as your remotes will work through the glass. The next items is our Nantucket Powder Blue 3 seater sofa with luxurious scatter cushions, framed by two side tables in white with a gorgeous parquetry wood table-top. We've added a matching French Style coffee table with some much needed practical storage underneath. And because we needed some extra seating we also added two Bamboo White Chairs that would complement the colour scheme and other statement furniture. Lastly, we've added my favourite... A stunning button top ottoman with french-oak curved legs and tied the whole room together with an extra large Catamaran wide-strip Dash and Albert Rug.
